History Of Jangid family
The Year of 1960, Shree Malchand ji Jangid of Churu founded and started a new art form of fine art carving of sandalwood, and established the base of Marwar Handicrafts.
In this work he started with wooden almonds in which he used to carve figures of Hindu Gods like Ganesh ji, God Shiva etc. etc. afterwards he started making different things like wooden legumes and other different fine carved arts.
In 1971, Shree Malchand ji Jangid won the national award from former president V.V. Giri for his sandalwood carved Doll and a special award from PM Indira Gandhi and started a new era of fine art carving as a master craftsman of churu.
After that his next generation developed this art form and made a trail of this inherited talent. Malchand Ji left the world leaving an original and prosperous art form. But their kids and Grandkids are still working in this field and sustaining this fine art culture.
Time by time The Jangid Family create a genre of fine art carving. For this work Jangid Family got A Padma Shree, more than 9 national awards, state awards, district awards, international awards, name in Limca Book of world records and many more.
